Happy 2nd Anniversary!

o
August 1st, 2009. The day I married my soulmate. Two years later, here we are celebrating in beautiful Jamaica! After boarding a super early flight out of Little Rock (because apparently that's the only time slot Mr. Otwell chooses for us to fly), we arrived in Jamaica about 11 am yesterday (July 31). I really hate getting to the airport with the chickens but it is so nice to not have to lose a whole day to traveling! We had a really nice flight coming into Jamaica from Atlanta.

We both were able to watch a movie of our choice.

I chose "Water for Elephants"

Jason chose "Limitless"

These very cool little monitors on the back of each seat is where we could watch a movie, listen to music, or even view the map of the location we were flying over

Awesome!!!

And when we made it to Jamaica, it looked like this!!!

We were so excited to be in Jamaica and see what all it had to offer for our vacation. First things first, hook up with a transfer to our resort. I ALWAYS let Jason handle this, he usually has the heads up on what he is looking for and let's be honest, I'd easily have us set up with a one way ticket into the Jamaican jungle, no all inclusives included!

Our cab driver was super nice and delivered us promptly to Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay...but not before he filled us in on all the insides and outs of the Jamaican pot smoking extracurricular activities! Nice! Very informative I must say, and I was highly surprised at how bold the locals were about smoking when it is definitely against the law. The driver said they know when to hide and when they are ok to smoke in public. At any rate, we were elated to pull up at our destination

After a quick check in and a gift of a small flower arrangement to celebrate our anniversary, we headed up to our room to unload and check it all out!

Our top floor room with the best view in the hotel according to our bellman!

So when we told the bellman what number room we were going to he said, "Oh man, what'd you do to get that room? Worried we replied, "Ummm, nothing special we don't think. Is it an ok room?" "Best view in the whole hotel" he replies. "You look right onto the beach and it's as far as you can see East and West!" We were clearly pumped and could not wait to check it out!

I was in heaven immediately! For some reason both of us totally felt like we were on our honeymoon again! First order of business was to enjoy a beverage on the balcony!

And the second order was....RELAX!

I must admit we were super super tired from the early flight and my ALWAYS last minute late night packing! It started to rain a little so we decided to go get a late lunch, explore just a bit, and then rest up before we headed out for the evening! When we got up and around we had big plans to go to dinner and check out some of the other night time entertainment! We went to the Mexican restaurant that night, El Patio, had drinks at the Piano Bar, and stopped into Desires, the dance club!

Headed out to for the night!

We had a fantastic first night and were really looking forward to our first full day in Jamaica on Monday! Also our anniversary!

Monday Aug. 1:

We woke up Monday with plans to throw on our bathing suits and hit the beach first thing! Nothing else for the entire day except sun and sand! And no getting dressy till dinner time. Sounds like a plan to me!
We went and grabbed a little breakfast and found us a nice spot by the pool.

Enjoying some Jamaican Jerk Chicken for lunch...YUM!!!!

Sadly, It wasn't too long before a huge afternoon rain shower ran us off and ruined our sunny day plans. We spent the day exploring the resort and resting up a little bit. After the rain cleared out we went and got in the hot tub for a little while to warm up since the rain had made it cool off. Soon after that we headed up to the room to get ready for dinner and our evening anniversary celebration.

We decided to do dinner at the French restaurant on the resort, Bordeaux. The food was amazing and we had a perfect evening! So thankful for this wonderful man of mine and being able to celebrate our marriage on a beautiful island. We went to bed that night excited to see what the rest of the week had in store for us and praying for no rain for Tuesday and a full day on the beach!
